Frequently asked questions

Can’t find what you need? Contact us and we’ll help.

What do you sell?

Two things, for homes and businesses: full fibre (FTTP) broadband and digital phone (VoIP). For businesses, digital phone includes hosted cloud phone systems and SIP trunks.

Can I keep my phone number?

In most cases, yes, and number porting is free for homes and businesses. Tell us your number and current provider and we’ll arrange the move and agree a switch date with you.

What is the digital switchover?

The UK’s old analogue phone network (the PSTN) is being retired and landline calls are moving to digital lines that run over broadband. Read our Digital Switchover guide for more.

Do I need to get my broadband from you?

No. Our digital phone can be bought on its own and works over any provider’s broadband, for homes and businesses. You can also bundle it with our full fibre if you’d like everything in one place.

I don’t have home internet. Can I keep my landline number?

Yes. Our digital phone plans give you a UK landline number over broadband. Porting is free; staff arrange it by hand and it usually takes a few working days. See Digital Phone and what happens in a power cut.

Will my existing phone work?

Many corded and cordless phones work with a digital line by plugging into your router’s phone port. If yours doesn’t, we’ll advise on alternatives.

What happens in a power cut?

Digital phones need power. If you rely on your landline to call 999, for example because you have no mobile phone, no reliable mobile signal at home, or you use a telecare alarm, please tell us. We’ll give you a free solution, such as a suitable battery back-up for the equipment we install, so you can still call 999 for at least one hour in a power cut.

I have an alarm, telecare device or card machine on my line. What should I do?

Check with the company that supplies or monitors the device whether it works over a digital line, and tell us about it when you order or switch. If you have telecare or an alarm on the line, we pause the switch until a member of staff has spoken with you and we are satisfied a safe solution is in place. What is full fibre?

Full fibre, or FTTP (fibre to the premises), runs fibre optic cable all the way to your home or business rather than switching to copper at a street cabinet.

How do I check availability?

Our online availability checker is on our Check availability page. Enter your postcode to see the services you can get at your address.

How much does it cost?

Plan prices are on our Full Fibre page and in the price guide.

How do I make a complaint?

We want to put things right. See our Complaints Code for how to raise a complaint and what happens next.
